I believe that any experience should be viewed as a learning opportunity, and I am presently finalizing my PhD in Social Work. My research interests include client violence, management of aggressive behaviors, protection of social workers and health care professionals, and policy development. I lecture part-time while completing my PhD and also conduct training globally and throughout South Africa. Some of my books and manuals are well-known across the country, and I am honored to continuing to contribute to the field of science.

In addition, for the past 12 years, I’ve worked as a private practice registered social worker, providing therapy and assessment services to children and families. Therapy, assessments (psychosocial and psycholegal), medical and psychiatric social work, EAP, and training are the areas in which I focus.

My PhD experience has been the pinnacle of my academic career, and I’m thrilled to be a member of the SAYAS 2022 blogging team.
